How did your journey as a model begin?
In 2013, when I came to Lisbon, I started to work with the Next agency as a commercial model. Since then, it has become an extra to my main profession.
Your social media is inspiring, how do you manage to reconcile content creation and modeling?
The work I've been doing on social media came during the pandemic when I started to have more free time to create. Ismael and I love taking pictures and it was our opportunity to create something we thought about for a long time. Although it is independent of my work as a model, they end up reconciling and allow me to work with brands that I admire a lot, either as a model or as a content creator.
Do you have any particular requirements for the fashion brands you collaborate with? What is it important for them to transmit?
I only accept to work with brands that identify with my values and aesthetics. I would say that minimalism, sustainability, ethical values, and the brand's own identity are probably the most important points.
How do you see the national fashion scenery?
I think that, if on the one hand, I applaud the new brands and innovative ideas that are emerging, on the other hand, I still think that you always work with the same teams, little diversity of ideas, and there aren't many Portuguese fashion magazines. There is a lot of quality in Portugal (production, people, locations) and we must continue to work on the creativity and export of our product, as brands, people, and at the government level.
What is that book that all fashion lovers should read?
I personally do not consume fashion books properly, but I consume a lot of magazines, editorials, whether fashion, nature, people, and architecture. But I can say that I am very happy every time a new Vogue Portugal comes out because it has become a cult magazine worldwide.
If you could only use one Manjerica for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
Zizita, timeless and minimal with a twist.
